Right on the beach you'll find one of Positano's top restaurants. Guests often stop for a drink in the bar before heading up to the dining room on a big covered terrace facing the sea.
On display are fresh fish, wonderful salads, and fruit, such as luscious plums and freshly peeled oranges soaked in caramel. An popular appetizer is a fresh seafood salad; you might prefer the zuppa di cozze (mussels) in a tangy sauce. Other items not to miss are linguine with lobster and grillata del Golfo, a unique mixed fish fry.
The pasta dishes are homemade and the meats are well prepared with fresh ingredients. Finish with a limoncello, the lemon liqueur celebrated along the Amalfi Drive. Leave room for dessert as they have the best gelati!

This stylish restaurant occupies the third floor of a hotel of the same name. Waiters will tell you that its terrace is "just 80 steps above the level of the sea." Bougainvillea, geraniums, hibiscus, and lemon trees are artfully massed in the terrace corners, and during nice weather the inside dining room closes completely in favor of the alfresco experience.
They specialize in fresh seafood dishes that are not to be missed! fresh salads, appetizers and seafood grill and homemade pasta!
For dessert sample some of their homemade pastries! If you don't have any room left after dinner then make sure you take some back to your room to enjoy later!
Li Galli
Via Pasitea, 318
84017 Positano (Salerno)
Ph. + 39 089-875655
In the warm atmosphere of the restaurant “Li Galli” they suggest a selection of old dishes of the Russos Family.
Dishes which have been re-elaborated by the actual owner and the professional aid of the chef Franco Maresca.
The simplicity of the food, the original taste of fresh ingredients and their vivid colors are in perfect harmony with the old flavours.
Franco, their maître, will be too happy to suggest local and regional wines to go with the food by you selected.
Moderate Priced Restaurants
La Tagliata
This restaurant is in Montepertuso, a small village up on the hill in Positano. Local buses can take you there otherwise they have free shuttle that will come to pick you up. Enjoy the bus ride up - you will see many wonderful sites along the way!
The food here is delicious, the service is wonderful and the staff is very friendly, especially Peppe the owner. You can eat an entree, a pasta dish and a dessert for only approx €35/40 each.
Don't miss eating here at least once during your stay!
Il Fornillo
Use the elevator of Hotel Puppetto to get down to this beachside restaurant at spiaggia Fornillo, or walk along the walkway from Spiaggia Grande. Great Neopolitan style pizza, seafood and pasta at moderate prices.
Max Restaurant
Max is a restaurant situated in the center of Positano where you can found inside an art gallery with old painting of eigtheen century and old fornitures to support an excellent food. In the summertime on the terrace you can found an oasis of relax and refinement.

The wine cellar at Max is a luxury restaurant where it is possible to have a dinner with over six hundred different types of wine that give you the best panoramic of the italian wine.
Max is also starting a cooking school in the near future!
Inexpensive Restaurants
Delikatessen
Just up the pathway from the main Beach in Positano, there is a 'grocery store' up a set of stairs, where you can buy canned goods, cereal and fruit etc. What most tourists didn't seem to know was that if you went to the back of the store at the deli counter, you could get fresh sandwiches made to go.
They will take a whole loaf of fresh crusty bread and stuff it with whatever meat (or whatever) you want, layer it with cheese, then top it with anything from their selection of pickled mushrooms, grilled eggplant, stuffed peppers, olives, or whatever you want.
"Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon
or not at all."
~ Harriet Van Horne
