1. The towns lying on the Amalfi Coast are Vietri sul Mare, Cetara, Maiori, Minori, Ravello, Atrani, Amalfi, Praiano, Scala and Positano.
2. The Amalfi Coast is listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site.
3. The area is featured in Positano (1953) by American writer John Steinbeck.
4. In the 19th Century Positano was one of the stops on the Grand Tour, a ritual journey taken by English nobility and well-to-do gentry.
5. Atrani is only five minutes from Amalfi- by foot!- but it is much more relaxed.
